Romsey and New Forest Psychology is a private practice offering psychological therapy to adults, and neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation.

Psychological therapy is an active process involving listening and exploring problems, and working together to make changes which allow you to live your life better.

Clinical Experience & Specialism

Picture
I have over 18 years of experience working clinically in the NHS. I am currently Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist at University Hospital Southampton. I have worked across a range of settings including mental health services for older adults, community neuropsychology services, inpatient settings, specialist stroke services and the regional centre for neurology.

Therapeutically, I have special interests in working with people who have anxiety and low mood, people experiencing loss or bereavement, and those who are living with physical health difficulties, including neurological conditions.

Most of the people I see are feeling stuck in some way and are seeking to make changes. The aim of our work together is to develop an understanding of the experience, of where it came from and what keeps it going, and to find ways to move forward, do things differently and to live life better.

(I do not work with children or offer assessments for ADHD or ASD)

Professional Training & Accreditation

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist on the professional register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. I completed a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Warwick in 2008 and subsequently completed the BPS Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.

I also have a research PhD from the University of Sheffield, I have been a visiting lecturer at the University of Southampton since 2010 and I have published a number of research papers. I enjoy teaching and training roles and I have delivered training and supervision to a range of professionals, patient groups and voluntary sector organisations.
